OCTOBER 2025 CLUB MEETING – GETTING SET UP FOR FIELD OPERATIONS WITH KD4CHW, KD4YDC, KI4ASK, KQ4JP, and W4VBD
Join us for the in-person October 2025 meeting of the Fayette County Amateur Radio Club on 10/30/25 @ 7pm. All are welcome.
This month’s program will be “Getting Set Up for Field Operations” presented by Tommy Beene (KD4CHW), Robert Burton (KD4YDC), Joe Domaleski (KI4ASK), Jack Parks (KQ4JP) and George Fenn (W4VBD).
Tommy, Robert, Joe, Jack and George are all active in portable field operations, including Parks on the Air (POTA) and Summits on the Air (SOTA). Each of them will provide their different perspectives on a typical field kit and the components for that setup. This can be from the setup needed for a week-long activation to a minimalist kit weighing under 10 pounds, or something in between. As part of this, information will also be given on where to acquire some of this gear without breaking the bank. Places to go will be passed along to give you ideas for your own field operations. So join us for this fun, interactive presentation on one of the great activities in ham radio!

The meeting will be held at the Fayette County Emergency Operations Center at 110 Volunteer Way, Fayetteville, GA.
The club meeting will also be live streamed if you are not able to make it in person.
