Presentation Overview

“The HamRack” — a Raspberry Pi cluster built to run multiple digital radio hotspots out of one compact setup. The presentation walks through the whole build: how the rack and hardware zones are laid out, what’s running on each node, and how D-Star, DMR, and AllStarLink are all bridged together on the same system. We’ll also cover a live status dashboard for keeping an eye on everything, a look at good spectrum discipline, and a handy frequency reference for each mode. The talk wraps up with a live demo, so come see the whole setup in action!

About the Presenter: Jack W Parks, KQ4JP

Jack Parks (KQ4JP) is an active amateur radio operator residing in Peachtree City, GA, and a member of the Fayette County Amateur Radio Club. Focused heavily on public service communications, ARES/AUXCOMM operations, and portable field deployments, Jack works to build practical, hands-on engagement across the local ham community. He serves as the creator and administrator of atlantahamradio.org and webmaster for georgiaskywarn.com, supporting regional emergency readiness and severe weather spotter coordination with NWS Peachtree City. A frequent presenter on public service and security topics—including appearances at the Stone Mountain Hamfest and Ham Nation—Jack often operates out in the field alongside his wife, Jaime (KQ4KZV).
